Our commitment
We want everyone to be able to find information about our care and get in touch with us easily, whatever device they use and whatever their needs. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 (opens in a new tab) at level AA.
What we have done
- The whole website can be used with a keyboard, with a clearly visible focus outline and a link to skip to the main content.
- Pages use a clear heading structure and descriptive link text, and images have text descriptions.
- Text and buttons use colour combinations chosen to meet WCAG AA contrast levels.
- Every form field has a visible label, and errors are explained in words next to the field they relate to.
- Question and answer sections can be opened with a keyboard and announce whether they are open or closed.
- Animations respect the reduced motion setting on your device, keeping only gentle fades.
- The website adapts to phones, tablets and desktops, and text can be enlarged using your browser zoom.
- Telephone numbers are links, so you can tap to call on a mobile phone.
Known limitations
We know some parts of the website may not yet be fully accessible:
- The coverage maps are interactive and may be difficult to use with a screen reader. The same information is always given in text next to the map, as a list of the towns and areas we cover.
- Links to other websites, such as review sites and official advice services, are outside our control.
We are working to improve these areas.
